Cellar Keeper of the Year!

Peter Clements of The British Oak, Blackheath, one of the first pubs in the UK to have a website powered by the useyourlocal platform, has been awarded Cellar Keeper of the Year by Ei Publican Partnerships.

The Ei Awards are open to Publican Partnerships managers and bar staff across the Greater London division and are judged by a panel of experts. Ten regional winners were selected after a rigorous audit and assessment process before being further judged by Diageo quality executive Daniel Ramacraft. Peter was awarded the top prize, followed by Alon Atzmon, who runs the Landor Hotel, Stockwell, and Kiara Maher, who runs the George, in Eton.

The British Oak, managed by Peter and his wife Jan, is a traditional Victorian venue with wood panelling and exposed brick walls, which hosts many events including live music, open mic nights and a monthly quiz. And of course they offer an excellent drinks selection from their award-winning cellar including local beers and changing cask ales, as well as bottled craft beers & ciders, and range of fine wine.

Congratulations to Peter, Jan, and all their staff at The British Oak!
